ABOUT PRESCOTT TOURISM

The Tourism Committee was formed in 2022, with the purpose to coordinate tourism promotion and development for the City of Prescott as set forth in section 66.0615, Wis. Stats.

The Committee monitors the collection of room taxes in Prescott, receives room tax revenue from the City, and uses it for tourism promotion and tourism development in the City. The Committee also reviews and recommends ordinances, expenditures of room taxes, and policies relating to the promotion of tourism in Prescott to visitors and tourism development.

The City contracts with a qualified organization under 66.0615, Wis. Stats., to perform the functions of a tourism entity.  The City currently contracts with Prescott Chamber of Commerce as its tourism entity.

Funding Request Process:

The Tourism Committee is responsible for evaluating and approving grant applications. Meetings are held monthly to consider new funding requests. Tourism funding operates on a reimbursement basis, meaning that after an event has occurred, applicants must provide receipts to the Tourism Board Treasurer. Once these receipts are reviewed and accepted, a reimbursement check will be issued to the applicant.
