ART & ABOUT
IN PRESCOTT

a place to create

Prescott offers a well-rounded mix of creativity, culture, and outdoor experiences, inviting visitors to explore at their own pace. Guests can browse local and regional works at our downtown art gallery, stop into the Great River Road Visitor Center at Freedom Park to learn about the area’s river history and plan their next stop, or enjoy a scenic round at Clifton Highlands Golf Club overlooking the river valley. Nature lovers can head across the river to the Carpenter St. Croix Valley Nature Center for trails, wildlife, and immersive outdoor learning. Throughout the community, outdoor art—from sculptures to murals—is woven into parks, riverfront spaces, and everyday streets, turning simple walks into moments of discovery. Together, Prescott’s art and attractions create an experience that’s both engaging and easygoing, blending small-town charm with river-town character.

Welcome & Heritage Center

Historic Clock Tower + Bell Park

In 2005, the Prescott Historical Society committed to a construction project to build a new clock tower in Prescott to house this historic clock and bell. The fundraiser was kicked off during Prescott Daze in 2005 and one year later (and over $125,000 in donations), the new tower was unveiled.

Bell Park is located next to the Welcome and Heritage Center in downtown Prescott. The bell was donated to the church and townspeople by former resident Max A. Elftman.

The Welcome and Heritage Center, and houses the Prescott Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Prescott Area Historical Society. The Visitors’ Center offers information on the area’s attractions and accommodations. The History Room features exhibits highlighting local heritage.
